Our perspective

Connecting agricultural emissions with environment and health

We conduct policy-oriented interdisciplinary research on the coupled agri-food system, carbon and nitrogen cycles, atmospheric environment, and health outcomes. Our integrated framework connects emission accounting, analysis of emission drivers, and health impact assessment. We examine changes in production and consumption, as well as agri-food trade, to explore coordinated regional mitigation and sustainable development.

01 Emissions & drivers

Cropland carbon and nitrogen emissions and their drivers

Integrate emission accounting and driver analysis to examine how agricultural management, farm scale, and socioeconomic change relate to agricultural carbon and nitrogen emissions.

02 Environment & health

Environmental health impacts

Connect agricultural emissions, the atmospheric environment, and health outcomes through a cross-scale assessment framework to explore coordinated regional mitigation.

03 Agricultural management

Farm scale

Examine relationships between farm scale and agricultural resource and environmental management, with attention to carbon and nitrogen emissions and sustainability.

04 Trade & equity

Environmental inequalities associated with agricultural trade

Examine the spatial distribution of environmental burdens and inequalities through production, consumption, and agri-food trade, exploring sustainable pathways that consider food security, environment, and health.
